And we're off! It’s been a great first couple days of practice, and so wonderful to see everyone again (and meet new families!)

Here are some key updates as we wrap up our first week... 

Family Welcome Meet ’n Greet

• Looking forward to seeing you all at the pool, on Thursday 6/22 at 6:30!
• Meet other families, find out what to expect this year, meet some coaches, and get any questions answered.
• Free practice suits are almost gone, but you can still browse and grab any that might fit your kids (or yourself!)
• Stop by for Heather McInally’s used Blue Fins suit sale (or to donate a used suit!)

Getting to Know the Coaches

You may have met some of them this week already! Some will be at the Meet ’n Greet, you can reach out on the Remind app, or chat with coaches before/after practices. You can also check out their Bios here: Blue Fins Coaches.

• Sorin Beals (Head Coach) - Sorin had planned to join us for the Meet ’n Greet and is excited to see everyone this year, but got stuck in Spain due to an issue with his return flight! He’ll be back in plenty of time for next week’s practices, and he is happy to talk with anyone before/after practices if you’d like to meet him and chat about anything.
• Maggie Olson (Assistant Coach) - Meet Maggie at the Meet 'n Greet! You’ll usually see her running the younger kids’ practices. Feel free to also chat with Maggie before/after practices. (Congrats to Maggie on her high school graduation this week as well!)
• Addi Beals (Assistant Coach) - You’ll often find Addi in the water supporting young swimmers! While Addi cannot join us Thursday evening (she’ll be prepping for the ACT) she will be available all other practices to chat before/after.
• Junior Coaches - Couldn’t do it without them! We have a fantastic group of Jr Coaches this year, and you’ll most often find them in the water helping out the younger kids. Jr Coaches this year are: Lorelei Baber, JP Gunter, Esther Helvig, Ethan Hunt, James Martin, Boden McInally, Liam McInally.

Purchased Suits/Gear

• Purchased suits/gear are estimated to arrive this Monday!
• Kristie Hentzen will receive the bulk delivery, and she will contact you to arrange pickup (we’re trying to avoid the mysterious “missing orders” that tend to occur when we leave everything at the pool for pickup!)

• Thanks everyone who opted-in! We are pairing everyone up and should have the list out to you early in the week.

Looking Ahead… Meets Coming Up!

• At the beginning of each week you’ll make your “meet declaration” entries, where you’ll select which events you’d like your swimmer to be entered in.
• By this Sunday night you’ll receive a specific email and instructions to make meet entries for the following upcoming meets:
  • Mock Meet (Home) (Friday May 30, 8:00-10:30am)
  • Away Meet @ Hunters Hill (our first regular meet!) May 31, 8:00am
• Specific details for our first meet and your “Meet Survival Guide” will also come out at the beginning of the week.
