At the Meets
The Forest Park Blue Fins Swim Team operation and success is dependent upon extensive parent volunteer participation throughout the season. The REQUIRED volunteer commitment by swim team parents is as follows per family.
- Saturday (regular season) Meets: Minimum of 3 shifts per family/per season (Maximum of 2 shifts per meet).
- Prelims/Finals Meets: Volunteer requirements will be done closer to prelim and final meet. If your swimmer attends prelims and/or finals, the expectation is you will be volunteering and the Parent Reps and Volunteer Coordinator will provide the volunteer schedule as soon as possible.
You will be required to sign up to volunteer when you register online.
If you are unable to fill your assigned position please arrange a trade with another family. All schedule changes and trades need to be arranged and communicated to the Volunteer Voordinator prior to the day of the meet.
If a parent does not fulfill his/her volunteer commitment, your child may not be allowed to swim. We haven't had to implement a fee system for not volunteering, so help us keep it that way by doing your part for the team.
When you arrive at the meet, it is important that you check in with the Volunteer Coordinator at the volunteer station to pick up your nametag which lists your job and time shift for the meet. By checking in early, we will know that all positions have been filled and, more importantly, we will be able to start the meet on schedule.
If you are volunteering for the first shift of the day, it is important that you are at your position at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the meet. First shift volunteers cannot leave until they are replaced with a second shift volunteer.
