Blue Fins Updates: Friday Practice and Saturday’s Meet
Hello Blue Fins!
A few updates for Friday and Saturday...
Friday Practices - Skills + Fun
Friday practices will spend half the time working on skills/technique, and the other half used for fun water games and team building!
Same practice times for each age group as usual (no Guppies practice)
Saturday’s Meet @ Stonegate (6/7)
Please make note of these important reminders for meet day!
Volunteer Check-in
- As a volunteer, it is IMPERATIVE that you check in with a Forest Park Parent Rep or the Forest Park Volunteer Coordinator before your shift. Checking in with the opposing/home team is not sufficient - each team handles their own volunteer lists. The opposing team should never reassign or relieve a Forest Park volunteer from their shift without confirming with a FP parent rep/volunteer coordinator first (if this happens to you- please check with a FP rep to confirm).
- At an away meet, Forest Park Volunteer Check-In will be at a team tent (find the large Blue Fins banner). You must check in with us before your shift begins!
Note on False Starts
The RMSL did not communicate this widely, so I wanted to make sure everyone is aware of new policies around false starts:
- The Referee official may not recall a false start or restart the race. After a false start, the race can continue and the swimmer(s) who have false started will be disqualified.
- What this means for us as parents/spectators: If the starter/referee does not recall the swimmer, please do not yell at the swimmer to come back. Also, please talk with your swimmers so they understand that a false start will likely result in a DQ.

- We will have reserved parking spaces in the pool parking lot for 1 parent rep and 1 coach per team.
- We will rope off our meet area for swimmers to stay inside of. Our diving board and waterslide pools will open at 9:00 am to non-swim meet attendees and we ask that your swimmers do not enter that area or pools at all during the meet.

- We will provide hospitality to Stroke Judges and Timers.
- Our concessions work with a ticket system. $1/per ticket. Tickets can be purchased at the meet next to the concessions area via cash or Venmo: @SGStingrays
- We do our volunteer shift changes at 8:00 am, 10:00 am, and 12:00 pm and ask volunteers to arrive 10 minutes ahead of time for their shifts.
- Timers: check in with our Lead Timer Chris Allen for your shift.
